Hardwick House School student's exam success!

Congratulations to our Year 11 group who have achieved a fantastic set of GCSE results!

Their hard work and dedication over the years has seen 100% of the students achieve above their expected progress grades in English and Maths, and 67% achieved a grade 5 or higher.

The Year 11 students all achieved an excellent set of pass grades across a broad range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, Design Technology, Food & Nutrition, and Art alongside qualifications in Spanish and ICT.

Although the cohort was unable to sit their final exams due to the Covid pandemic, students continued to learn, completing work and studying during the difficult time. Chris Sinclair, Deputy Headteacher, said “this really is testament to their fantastic work ethic and positive attitude to learning.” All of the students secured a place in further education, training or employment.

The students all passed their Level 2 Functional Skills exams in English and Maths at the end of the Autumn term as part of their preparation for the GCSEs. This approach supports our students each year by enabling them to build on their success. The school’s average attainment 8 score is 47, above last year’s national average of 46.8 for all pupils and well above the national average (13.7) for pupils with an EHCP.

Staff who have taught and supported the group of students throughout their education at Hardwick House School are delighted to see the student’s hard work and dedication reflected in these excellent grades. Sarah Unwin, Headteacher at Hardwick House School, also highlighted how proud staff at the school are to know that this group of students are prepared for their future and will thrive on the next step of their journey.
